Is the Make Money Online Niche Too Saturated and Competitive?

When I first started blogging, I remember how quickly the novelty wore off and I experienced how boring it was talking about ‘Natural Remedies For Health.’ That was my chosen niche. The real problem? I had no real interest whatsoever in natural remedies for health. I’m sure there are countless people searching for things related to this but I wasn’t going to be the one to cater for these people.

Blogging should be based on a passion. It’s hard enough as it is to be a writer. I mean a consistent writer. If you have a passion, you can blog about it. You can do more and more research on it and then feed your knowledge into your blog and reach people who want YOUR content.

Still, it’s important to avoid a common blogger’s mistake: writing for yourself. What you write should be relevant to what people are searching for. You need to have this in mind with every piece of content you create. Google will tell you what people are searching for.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Is the MMO niche too saturated? Too competitive? Well, the MMO niche was the second niche I chose. I had a passion for it this time and stuck with it. It certainly is a big niche, that’s for sure. Many say it’s not even a niche properly speaking and I would tend to agree in that it’s extremely broad.

Here’s the answer: while there is high competition and an immense number of MMO blogs on the internet, only a very small fraction of these blogs are actually doing well and achieving success.

The reality is that most bloggers don’t really get to where they want to be. It’s not easy to be a successful blogger.

But that is the case even more so with blogs in a super massive niche like how to make money on the internet.

However, the good news is that your actual number of serious competitors is far smaller than you imagine.

Reasons why there’s always hope for you:

When you type something into Google and a list of sites comes up with information related to that search term, many of those sites are showing up for that particular search term but probably do not have many other posts on page 1 of Google.

In fact, if your site is getting some traffic, you may well be doing better than a lot of these other sites that pop up for select search terms.

And let’s not forget there are 4.9 billion people on the internet so that’s a LOT. There are more than enough people out there who want what you have to offer. It is possible, over a period of time, for you to crank out enough content to reach these people.

There are also successful bloggers who slacken off once they are getting a steady flow of traffic to their website. This gives less successful bloggers a chance to catch up and beat the competition.

You also need to keep remembering that blogging is a long term thing. Day in and day out your are building something. It’s going to get bigger and bigger and a lot of the actual power you have as a blogger is simply in developing a habit of consistent content creation and growing your site to the point where there is so much content that you simply do far better than others with less content. Of course I am talking about content that is good quality and properly optimised. But the sheer amount of content you can be proud of after a few years as well as the fact that your site will have started to grow in authority… now that’s the kind of blog that does well, no matter what niche you happen to be in.

  • Many sites on page 1 aren’t actually doing well overall
  • Your audience is in the billions – there’s always potential to reach people with your blog
  • Successful bloggers can get complacent and neglect their site, giving you an advantage
  • Blogging is a long term strategy meaning that in time, it is possible to rank well and get a decent flow of organic traffic.

Do Your Research and Be Confident

Many people don’t even get as far as building a website. They think that’s beyond them. You presumably have one already or have had one in the past. Or maybe you have one that you aren’t currently updating. The point is that you DO have what it takes to make it as a blogger. If the MMO niche is what you want then stick with that. Just be sure to keep educating yourself on your niche and have faith in yourself.

ALL other successful bloggers started out just like you. No one is great at what they do on day 1 without prior training and experience. Becoming better comes with time, not with watching videos and reading blogs from other people who have already made it to a certain level of success.

No. You get to the good stuff only after you have persevered through the rough beginning. The trial and error launch pad. That time sucks but it is the crucial formation of you into a future successful blogger.

If you want to succeed in a competitive niche, get good at keyword research! And have faith in yourself.

And don’t imagine the competition to be more overwhelming than it actually is. Your niche isn’t over saturated. There’s always more to write about that other bloggers haven’t successfully written about yet. When I say successfully I mean some may have tried to rank for certain keywords but failed.

AI is now a whole niche in itself but you could produce a whole host of blog posts on that subject within the MMO niche, explaining different ways that people can use AI for the benefit of their online business.

The industry of internet marketing is something that’s evolving all the time. It’s not a static think when eventually becomes saturated due to everything already being said about it that can be said by other bloggers. That’s not the reality.

There are always new programs being produced. These are programs that YOU can review.

You can go to a prelaunch site called MunchEye where you can find MMO programs that have not yet been released. You can study these and write reviews for them before they launch. That is another way to get traffic to your MMO site from product reviews.

You can go to WarriorPlus where there are countless MMO programs. It is always being updated with new ones. Look for ones that stand out or that are just new and go for it. Study and review these products. Get content out there about them. Do YouTube reviews about them as well and have that as a second traffic generating strategy.

But if blogging is your main focus, don’t allow yourself to get too distracted. It is one of the best ways, if not the best way to gain organic traffic.

Earn Your Place in the 2%

About 1-2% of people that attempt a blog in the MMO niche will fail. But it comes down to them rather than other factors like competition and other people having more content.

You’ve got to strive to be among the best to deserve a place at the table of successful affiliates and bloggers.

It comes down to YOU. Study. Practice. Rinse and repeat. You’ll get there. You will.
