Overview and Rating:

Product: Ministry of Freedom

Type: Course (9 modules) on Launch Jacking and Affiliate Marketing

Owner: Jono Armstrong

Price: $1,497 (or 3 installments of aprox, $500)

Recommended? Not Really.

Jono is a clever guy and a successful online businessman. However, his marketing methods and what he actually teaches doesn’t really appeal to me and here’s why:

Firstly, his sales page is very hyped up and he gives newbies the impression that making money online is an easy and fast process when it never is in reality. True, you can make money fast and easily if you have already built up a serious online business and that only comes with a lot of trial and error and plenty of work over a long period of time (usually at least a year). But you can’t just buy a program as a complete beginner and start making money over night – no way!

Secondly, he goes on about using other people’s YouTube videos to make money. Supposedly it’s legal but the practical problem is that you are not being taught the importance and value of creating your own content and if a lot of people are following the same strategy of using other people’s videos, then you won’t stand out or be trusted by potential customers. They just won’t be inclined to buy from you. Plus YouTube will rank the most original video rather than a video with duplicate versions.

Thirdly, he makes it sound easy to do PPC campaigns when it is actually very difficult in reality to profit from paid ads. PPC is a highly advanced way of making money and I think it’s really not something you should throw beginners into, let alone lead them on to think that it’s an easy and fast process which leads to making lots of money.

My Rating for Ministry of Freedom: 2 out of 5 Stars

Ministry of Freedom Full Review

One of the elements about Ministry of Freedom that particularly stands out is Jono’s offer to teach you how to make monthly, passive income from a strategy that involves downloading other people’s YouTube videos and re-uploading them on your own channel.

In fact, he provides a 2 hour long video class where he teaches you this strategy. It involves walk-throughs on finding, uploading and monetising these videos.

Sounds good right?

But wait… there’s a catch!

The real goal behind showing you this information is to make you want to sign up to his $1,497 course.

Inside Ministry of Freedom you’ll get Jono’s training consisting of 9 modules on launch jacking and product launching, PPC and email marketing.

Is it good course?

He is teaching real marketing so in that sense, yes, it could help you to make money. However, the course revolves around promoting his own course and scammy products.

Also, I personally don’t think paid ads and email marketing are something that should be taught to beginners. They are just too inexperienced to be jumping into such risky and advanced strategies and they usually don’t have a big budget or a large online following, but anyway, never mind that for now.

You can find plenty of positive reviews of Ministry of Freedom but the reality is that a lot of those reviews are made by affiliates who’s sole aim is to sell you the course. It’s the same with affiliates for other expensive courses like Commission Hero by Robby Blanchard and the Super Affiliate System by John Cristani. These guys both have thousands of affiliates all wanting their piece of the pie by earning those high ticket commissions. In reality, I don’t think either of these popular, expensive courses are quite as good as they’re cracked up to be. Commission Hero is all about Facebook ads but Fb ad accounts get banned ALL the time and it can be really frustrating and difficult to get your banned account back. The Super Affiliate System really has one obvious goal: to sell itself. That’s the main way that you’re supposed to make money. Plus this John Cristani is said to use a whole load of shady methods to get money. I just don’t think people need to be charged $900-$1000+ upfront just to be shown how to make money online. And there are so many other costs besides the entry fee that you first need to hand over to these hotshot program creators.

Jono Armstrong: Who is he and What kind of Marketer is he?

Jono Armstrong is a successful internet marketer and claims to have made a fortune mostly through YouTube and affiliate marketing.

Bear in mind that very few people who attempt to make a living online by affiliate marketing or any other kind of ebusiness, actually succeed.

So credit to Jono where it’s due.

But only to an extent…

He is successful in that he has made a lot of money, yes, and he has mastered certain marketing skills, some of which are essential to success, but that being said, there are some things about him that I for one cannot condone.

One of these things is the selling of very low quality make money online (MMO) products. He also makes a lot of these himself and hypes them up to get sales when in reality, these products don’t really lead people to where they want to be and the guy knows what he is selling is junk. He knows it and he’s open about it; he even encourages his students to do the same thing.

You may know the kind of products I’m talking about: cheap get-rich-quick schemes with over-hyped sales pages and a load of pricey upsells waiting to hit you on the back-end once you have your foot in the door, etc. Usually these programs are a complete letdown, totally unhelpful and all that super positive talk about them tends to be nothing but BS.

You’ll typically find these types of lame MMO programs on places like WarriorPlus, Jvzoo and Clickbank.

Personally, I don’t respect internet marketers who parade the idea of getting rich quick with push-button systems.

But that’s exactly what Jono is all about.

Here’s the description for his YouTube channel:

Description:

In-depth reviews on the latest & greatest ‘push-button’ tricks and ‘copy paste’ methods.

Online business does NOT work by push-button and copy paste methods.

Jono knows how to make money but that in my opinion does not make him someone you should trust or buy from.

That said, there’s always something good a newbie can learn from an experienced online marketer.

What is the Money Making Method Taught in Ministry of Freedom?

Jono teaches and uses a strategy called Launch Jacking. What this means is finding products that have not yet been fully released and doing reviews for them.

In his case, he usually finds make money online products and does reviews for these. He teaches you the same process in the course.

The main place you can go to find these products is MunchEye.

MunchEye is riddled with programs that are supposed to help people make money online. Many of these will end up being sold on Jvzoo or WarriorPlus.

A huge issue I see with this is that most new and cheap make money courses on MunchEye are such low quality that they don’t really help those who buy them. On top of that, these programs pretty much always have hyped up and misleading sales pages and a ton of upsells amounting to several hundred dollars.

Anyway, your job will be to pitch these products to people and theoretically, make sales that way.

MunchEye

To me, this is a very sleazy, unethical approach to marketing and you won’t gain trust in the long run from the people you target.

Jono employs and teaches a strategy of using the sales videos from these types of products and uploading them on to a channel of your own with your own links to the products.

Sometimes this kind of strategy can work. You might get lucky with it here and there. But if a large number of other affiliates are also reusing videos and doing the same thing as you, then where does your leverage come from?

Leverage comes with unique content, not with content that is recycled or copy and pasted. To make it in the online world you really need to learn to do things YOUR way. That means have your own voice, your own fingerprint, your own compelling style etc.

What this boils down to is that while Jono may be showing you some interesting tricks to make money, I would say he’s not exactly helping you to become a legit internet marketer or let’s say, an independent online entrepreneur. This is because he’s trying to cater for people who want money without work. These people are all in the 99% of those who never make it in online business

If you’re being taught to use content that’s already out there on the internet or that you should promote any old thing that sells, you’re going to run into at least two issues eventually:

  • You won’t stand out or be trusted much
  • People will refund things you sell and you’ll get a bad name (a bit like Jono)

You see Jono isn’t someone of a great reputation. There are all kinds of dodgy things associated with him including people having trouble trying to refund his course after purchasing it.

He also admits on a YouTube video, to selling ‘dog crap’ products to newbies.

From my experience in this business, I’m going to say that it is always better to find something that you really believe in and that you genuinely think will help people out with whatever it is they’re looking for. And to promote the thing you recommend, it’s best to come up with your own unique content rather than try to get it from other people.

Next, here’s an important point: if this is going to be your business moving forward then you want to get more out of it than simply the end result – the money.

You want more than that, trust me. Or at least I really think you should. Firstly, you should be able to enjoy the ride! Running a business should become something you feel you can properly get into and enjoy.

Secondly, you should want to actually help people with your online business, not rip them off.

It’s very rewarding to actually help other people out there who are struggling and it gradually earns you a good reputation and this in turn affects your brand as a business. It is also part of the process of becoming an Authority in your Niche.

The Course Content: Ministry of Freedom Modules

You can learn a popular process called affiliate marketing using Jono’s course, Ministry of Freedom. So, let’s take a look at what’s in the course modules just so you can see precisely what it offers and then we’ll see whether he is teaching you the right way to do affiliate marketing or not.

List of Course Modules:

  1. Welcome module: mindset, commitment
  2. Applications and tools
  3. Launch Jacking
  4. Continuation of module 3
  5. Continuation of module 3 and 4 (Launch Jacking)
  6. Soft Launching
  7. Email Marketing
  8. Product Launching
  9. PPC (pay per click/paid traffic training)

Aside from the modules themselves which I’ll explain in further detail in a moment, you also get a access to the Private Facebook Group as a bonus for signing up for Ministry of Freedom.

Other bonuses include one-on-one coaching from Jono and his assistant, special help with product reviewing and the opportunity to have your affiliate links shared/promoted by Jono himself.

We’ve spoken about Launch Jacking already.

What else? Mindset.

Personally I’m not a huge fan of all these mindset videos that you keep getting in this industry. If you want to be successful, you need to think less and act MORE! There’s only one way to future passive income and that is to take MASSIVE action; massive consistent action is what makes dreams turn into reality. That’s it. That and knowing what you’re doing, learning from mistakes, improving as you go, etc.

Applications and tools covers things like website builders, email marketing autoresponders (Aweber, Mailchip and GetResponse to give some examples) and tracking softwares. All useful stuff to add to you knowledge skill inventory as an online business person.

#1 Recommendation. Try it Free. Zero Risk >>

Soft Launching is similar to creating lead magnets which basically means that you offer someone a free course or something of value in exchange for the person’s email. Well, they give you their email in order to receive the free offer. You then have a lead. Email lists are made up of leads and as the saying goes, ‘the money is in the list.’ Each new leads means someone you can pitch offers to in the future via your email autoresponder.

One good thing Jono teaches in the email marketing course is the importance of providing value, especially early on so that you can build trust with the people on your email list. Not that he himself is great at earning trust but anyway, that’s irrelevant in this case.

Product Launching is a valuable module in Ministry of Freedom. It will teach you to make your own course. This can be a good way to increase your income. However, you’ll want to make sure your course isn’t just junk and that you’re not just repeating the same content in some other course out there. Sometimes it’s better to just focus on being a successful affiliate for a course or service that you actually believe strongly in.

Ministry of Freedom offers a paid traffic module where you will be shown techniques for running ad campaigns such as Google PPC ads.

My only issue with this is that when pitching his course to you, Jono gives you the impression that making money with PPC is easy and that you don’t need experience to use any of the methods he shows you in the course for making money online. But PPC is highly advanced and not for beginner affiliates. If you want to start from the ground up, you shouldn’t start out by learning paid ads. That will almost certainly result in losing your money because this stuff is highly difficult to pull off and get real profit from.

Ministry of Freedom: Who is it For?

Ministry of Freedom is for beginners in affiliate marketing and anyone who wants to make money online and doesn’t have a problem with promoting scammy products.

People who do follow Jono’s strategies and go all in with the course will probably start making money.

However, you’ll really want to ask yourself whether you’re comfortable with the arguably high price as well as the questionable methods that will be taught in the course.

What Are the Costs of Ministry of Freedom?

You have the base price of the course which is $1,497 (a bit much don’t you think?) Anyway, that’s not all. There other costs associated with Ministry of Freedom if you actually want to follow it as instructed.

You aren’t told about these extra expenses until you buy the course.

These extra costs come from using other paid services such as an autoresponder for email marketing and ClickFunnels by Russell Brunson. That comes to about $112 per month. (ClickFunnels page builder is $97 p/m).

Throw in an extra $15 p/m or so for website domain and hosting.

On top of that, you’ll need a budget of one size or another if you’re going take action with the paid traffic module. About $1000 at least if you’re going to get serious with PPC campaigns.

Honestly, there are some far more affordable options out there such as the program I personally use that have even better (and more ethical) training, as well as all the tools and support for building an online business.

Is Ministry of Freedom a Scam?

Humm, good question! I don’t think it legally counts as a scam.

The promises or claims Jono makes about his course are obviously exaggerated, for example ‘make 10K a month with only a few minutes of work each day!’

Also, the fact that people report it being difficult to get a refund is a serious problem.

Finally, if you go for this course, you won’t be doing ethical marketing which in the long run is a bad strategy as well as being misleading and unfair on the people you are selling to.

A Better Launch Jacking Strategy:

Instead of doing what Jono does and teaches to his students which is crafting positive reviews of scammy products, I would go about Launch Jacking another way, a way that we learn about in the all in one program I use to make money online.

What I would do is create honest reviews of these low quality and misleading MMO programs and simultaneously, I would recommend the program that I truly believe to be the most helpful and affordable for people looking to start a legit online business that makes good, honest money.

This would of course require one to be in the MMO niche but there are probably other ways to do Launch Jacking in a different niche.

Ministry of Freedom: Final Thoughts and Better Alternative

Ministry of Freedom isn’t a course I would invest in for several reasons:

  • The price, plus all the additional costs make it far too expensive for me
  • I don’t like the sleazy marketing methods that Jono uses and teaches to his students
  • I have a big problem with being unethical and unhelpful to others (even though I might make money in the process)
  • There are better and more honest ways to implement a Launch Jacking strategy
  • I don’t like starting out with email marketing and paid ads because I think learning about SEO and building a following and making money through organic traffic methods should come first
  • I wouldn’t want to hand my hard earned money over to Jono Armstrong, especially considering that it can be hard to get a refund for his course.
